Snowmobile Safety

Snowmobile safety is an essential part of snowmobiling.  Safe snowmobilers have the most fun
on the trails and make the sport more enjoyable for others.

The sport of snowmobiling is becoming increasingly more popular with each passing year and
the Newaygo County Snowmobile Association Snow Chasers are proud to offer snowmobile
safety classes to help educate parents and students alike.  Our purpose is to keep the sport safe
and enjoyable for everyone.

We offer one safety class every year; instructor Bryan Jahr has an overwhelming number of
students wishing to sign up for his classes.  Six years and 285 certified snowmobilers later,
Bryan continues to offer these classes to educate the next generation of snowmobilers.

Both of Bryan’s daughters and several other club members’ children have taken the course.
Leanna, Bryan’s daughter, had this to say about Bryan’s method of teaching,

 “My dad gets the kids involved and teaches from his own experiences as well as the
  book.  With the volunteer help he receives from other club members, I learn something
  new every year.”

Safety classes are recommended for all snowmobilers.
